Help Save The 1903 Historic County Jail!

Join the Architectural Preservation Foundation of Contra Costa County (APFCCC) at The Tavern Restaurant in Martinez for an evening of wine, light appetizers, raffle prizes and engaging conversation.

The public is invited and encouraged to bring friends and neighbors to share ideas, win raffle prizes and learn about how APFCCC is working toward saving the beautiful historic 1903 Jail from demolition.

When: Thursday, October 26th. 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Where: The Tavern, 451 Vine Hill Way, Martinez

Details: There is no cost to attend.

Raffle tickets will be sold at the event. Wine, beverages, and light appetizers will be provided, compliments of The Tavern.

Let's have some fun while we work toward stopping the demolition! The Tavern Restaurant (formerly Tavern on the Greens) is a casual, neighborhood social spot that offers table shuffleboard, corn hole, ring ross, darts, ladder ball and a full bar.

ABOUT THE CAUSE

Many County residents are unaware that the future of the 1903 Historic County Jail is still uncertain. In 2019, it is possible the County Board of Supervisors will vote to demolish the 1903 granite beauty so that parking spaces or alternate County use may be put in its place. Temporarily, the 1903 Historic Jail will remain intact as the APFCCC was able to reach an agreement in April of this year to delay any a further action on demolishing the jail for two years.
