Spinner Winner! 'Wheel of Fortune' Contestant From Fairfield Wins Big

Rick Galten of Fairfield, a contestant on Wheel of Fortune on Monday won BIG.

Big, big, big!

Rick won $130,565 in cash and prizes, including a trip to St. Martin.

Galten, who works as a court reporter in San Francisco and enjoys martial arts in his free time, said, “I would have been happy with anything! I’m just truly happy to be here… (I am) ecstatic, I’m in shock. My expectations were so low, I prepared for the worst.”

Previously a translator, Rick hopes he can take his entire family on their dream vacation with his winnings, possibly to visit Disney World, according to the game show folks.

A huge fan of “Wheel”, he has been watching the show for decades with his family and even turned his 7-year-old daughter into a devoted fan.

When he heard the Wheelmobile would be coming to Sacramento, he was thrilled for the chance to try out to be a contestant -- and good thing he did!

Rick competed during “Wheel Around the World” week, featuring clips from countries all over the world and giving contestants a chance to win once-in-a-lifetime trips, great cash prizes and fun moments with Pat and Vanna.
