Volunteers Welcome For Martinez Cemetery Cleanup: City

Lunch will be provided during the semi-annual cleanup at Alhambra Pioneer Cemetery, one of the oldest cemeteries in California.

MARTINEZ, CA — The City of Martinez and E Clampus Vitus Chapter 13 are hosting the semi-annual Alhambra Pioneer Cemetery Cleanup Saturday, May 11. The cleanup will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; everyone is welcome and no registration is required, according to Veronica Sepulveda of the city's Recreation Division.

Located on Carquinez Scenic Drive off Talbart Street, it is one of the oldest cemeteries in California.

"This event is a great opportunity to help preserve the cemetery, while giving back to the community," Sepulveda said.

Lunch will be provided by E Clampus Vitus Chapter 13.

Trash bags and water will be provided by the Martinez Recreation Division, and volunteers may bring their own tools and gloves.
