• Marysville to Open New River Walking Trail (territorialdispatch.com) — Marysville is preparing to open the new Confluence Loop Trail along the Yuba and Feather rivers by mid-October, turning 50 acres of unused riverfront into a public walking area. At the same meeting, the City Council approved a window retrofit for City Hall and the Police Department, adopted a short‑term rental reporting ordinance to collect hotel taxes, and advanced the Hyatt Studios hotel project with a time‑limited tax reimbursement.
• Marysville Arts Academy Earns National Recognition (territorialdispatch.com) — Marysville Charter Academy for the Arts, part of Marysville Joint Unified, has been ranked in the top 4% of public high schools nationwide and best in the Yuba City metro area by U.S. News & World Report. The school credits its blend of strong academics and arts instruction, adding this honor to multiple California Distinguished School awards over the past two decades.
• Tech Trek Students Share STEM Experience (wheatlandsun.com) — Local seventh‑grade girls selected by the AAUW Marysville‑Yuba City Branch are sharing how a week at UC Davis' Tech Trek STEM camp opened their eyes to science, technology, engineering and math careers. At a Sept. 19 gathering in Marysville, nine of the ten 2026 participants described hands‑on workshops, college‑style classes, and encouragement from Tech Trek alumni who are continuing in STEM fields.
