• Judge sinks TIDE Rising's lawsuit against high school district (almanacnews.com) — Parents’ efforts to keep Menlo Park’s TIDE Academy open hit a major setback after a federal judge dismissed their civil rights lawsuit challenging the Sequoia Union High School District’s closure plan. The ruling clears the way for the district to move TIDE’s programs to Woodside High, leaving the future of TIDE’s $50 million Jefferson Drive campus uncertain for now.
• Man sues YouTubers over alleged pepper-spray attack at Mountain View Costco (almanacnews.com) — Menlo Park residents should know police are investigating YouTube “First Amendment auditors” after a pepper-spray confrontation downtown and a related encounter at Draeger’s Market, both now tied to lawsuits. A Milpitas man is suing the group over an earlier Mountain View Costco incident, alleging serious eye injuries and claiming the YouTubers provoke conflicts to profit from online views.
• Consumer watchdog group files suit alleging Meta profited on ads for scams (valawyersweekly.com) — Menlo Park comes into focus as the home base of Meta, now facing a new class-action lawsuit from the Consumer Federation of America over allegedly profiting from scam ads. The case, filed in Washington, D.C., cites internal estimates that Meta earned billions from high‑risk or fraudulent advertising while publicly downplaying scam risks on Facebook and Instagram.
