• Carbon monoxide leak impacts six people in Menlo Park (almanacnews.com) — A carbon monoxide leak at 1540 El Camino Real in Menlo Park sent one person to the hospital in critical condition and left several others with minor injuries on September 19. Firefighters traced the problem to a gas-powered power washer in a parking garage, evacuated a neighboring building on San Antonio Road, and warn residents to avoid using gas equipment in enclosed spaces and to maintain working CO detectors.
   

• Gun, Rifle Ammo Found In Vehicle After East Bay Road Rage Suspect Drove To Napa Valley (patch.com) — A 59-year-old Menlo Park man was arrested in American Canyon after police linked his SUV and a handgun to an earlier road rage incident in Oakland. Officers say they recovered a Kimber 9mm pistol, a loaded magazine, and rifle ammunition, and note the suspect is prohibited from possessing firearms, which may concern local residents following regional crime involving Menlo Park residents.
