Food Trucks a Big Hit at July 4th Celebration
Visitors of the city's annual 4th of July Celebration in Burgess Park enjoy mobile food offerings.
Thousands of residents and visitors flocked to Menlo Park's 4th of July Celebration in Burgess Park today to enjoy live music, games for kids, and of course, fresh food.
The Curry Up Now Indian Street Food truck served up hot curries while the Oaxacan Kitchen Mobile offered organic Mexican food. Grilled Teriyaki Chicken was also available, and a Rainbow Ice Cream truck served deserts. Lines were long.

Food trucks have been growing in popularity in recent years all over the Bay Area, giving hungry patrons more food choices in more locations. In Menlo Park, food trucks visit the nearly every Monday night. is the next Food Truck Night there.
The food trucks help attact additional business for the Willows Market, since patrons purchasing food from the trucks often head inside for beverages, fruits, or snacks not sold by the trucks.

Food trucks were also present at the Menlo Park Block Party, held June 20 on Santa Cruz Avenue downtown, when the street from El Camino Real to Unversity Drive was temporarily closed to vehicles and opened up to public use. A second Menlo Park Block Party will take place on August 15, 2012.
