Menlo-Atherton's Varsity Boys' Track Team In Home Stretch of Fabulous Season
This year, M-A's Varsity Boys and Girls 4x400M relay team are 2nd and 7th respectively in CCS. A great achievement.
For those that don't know, most of the high school athletes in the area (public or private schools) compete in a region called CCS; and the subset is the league Menlo-Atherton competes in called PAL.
Menlo-Atherton is having an amazing year with some especially very talented relay teams. One of the hardest races in the competition is the 4 x 400M relay. This means that one person runs 1 lap of the track, hands off the baton to another person, 4 people total. This year, M-A's Varsity Boys and Girls are 2nd and 7th respectively in CCS. The meet organizers always save the 4x400M until the last event because the last lap of that events is always the most exciting. For M-A's boys team it is Di'Jonn Williams who runs that lap.
Coach Alan Perry has been keeping parents and athletes up to date on where they are in M-As history books. 30 new entries have made it into the record books at M-A. They, to no surprise, feature the relay teams:
