Elderly Woman Killed In I-280 Crash In Menlo Park [UPDATE]
BREAKING: CHP officials say that one person is dead and another is injured. A sig alert was issued for the area.

MENLO PARK, CA – A fatal crash Wednesday afternoon on northbound Interstate Highway 280 in Menlo Park claimed the life of an 83-year-old woman, according to the California Highway Patrol. The solo-vehicle crash was reported shortly before 12:30 p.m. on northbound Highway 280 in the area of the Sand Hill Road off-ramp.
CHP Officer Eric Anderson said one person was killed and one person was injured in the crash. Incident logs indicated that the vehicle rolled several times and hit the center divider. Officials believed the woman who died was ejected, and likely wasn't wearing a seatbelt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both victims, Los Altos residents, were traveling in a 1998 Toyota Avalon on the highway, approaching to Sand Hill Road. When the Toyota veered to the left, it struck a center median. The impact caused the Toyota to overturn, according to the CHP.

The driver, the 87-year-old man, was taken to Stanford Hospital, CHP officials said.
As a result of the crash, the numbers one and two lanes were blocked headed northbound, CHP logs indicated Wednesday afternoon. All lanes weren't reopened until 3:20 p.m..
