Menlo Park Resident Sheryl Nonnenberg will share her research into the life of Sarah Stein, sister-in-law of Gertrude, and patron/collector of Henri Matisse. While Sarah Stein is not as well-known as her famous sister-in-law, she made an important contribution to the advancement of modern art by her patronage of Henri Matisse. Her extensive collection of Matisses early work was kept in her home on Kingsley Street in Palo Alto for almost twenty years. Sheryl Nonnenberg is an art researcher and writer who currently works for a private collector in San Francisco.
