Filoli To Present Bay Area Wildlife Exhibit

A fabulous "meet-the-artists" weekend is planned in October.

The San Francisco Bay Area is home to a large variety of wildlife, which will be celebrated through a fine art exhibit from Sept. 9 through Oct. 26 in the Visitor and Education Center at Filoli.

Original works that capture the natural beauty of these local creatures, from mammals and marine life to birds, insects and reptiles will be on display. This is Filoli’s final art exhibit of the season.

Meet the Artists: Saturday, Oct. 11, 10 am – 3 pm and Sunday, Oct. 12, 11 am – 3 pm.

On this special weekend visitors can meet the artists, learn what inspires them, discover how they create their artwork and view additional works. Original pieces, prints, note cards and other items will be for sale.

The exhibit is free with paid admission to Filoli. Reservations are not necessary.

Admission is free for current members of Filoli. For non-members, admission is Adults $18, Seniors (65 years and older) $15, students $8 (ages 5 through 17 or with valid student ID); no admission charge for children 4 years and younger. Group rates are available for groups of 12 or more adults.

About Filoli

Filoli, located in Woodside, is recognized as one of the finest remaining country estates of the early 20th century. The 654-acre property includes a 36,000 square-foot residence furnished with an extensive collection of 17thand 18th century English antiques and 16 acres of English Renaissance gardens that showcase an exquisite horticultural collection.

Established as a private residence in 1917 and opened to the public in 1976 to promote cultural and horticultural endeavors, Filoli is a historic site of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Filoli is open Tuesdays through Sundays and is closed in observance of all Federal holidays.
