Grandson of Ty Cobb to Speak at MP Library-Sponsored Event November 1
Menlo Park resident Herschel Cobb is the author of Heart of a Tiger: Growing Up with My Grandfather, Ty Cobb

Local author Herschel Cobb will talk about his book, Heart of a Tiger: Growing up with My Grandfather, Ty Cobb, during a free program to be presented by the Menlo Park Library on Saturday, November 1.
Ty Cobb, “The Georgia Peach,” played 22 years as an outfielder for the Detroit Tigers, setting 90 Major League Baseball records during his career. He was an inaugural inductee in the Baseball Hall of Fame. To Herschel Cobb, though, Ty was “Granddaddy.”
In his memoir, Menlo Park resident Herschel Cobb shares reminiscences about summers spent with his grandfather at Ty Cobb’s Atherton home, as well as at his Lake Tahoe cabin. The younger Cobb’s memories are of another, less-known legacy of the baseball great: the enormous power of a grandparent to provide stability, love and guidance.
