Heavy Rain, 23 MPH Winds In Menlo Park: Work Week Forecast

MENLO PARK , CA — Peninsula residents can expect a strong dose of rain Monday — and part of Tuesday — before the skies clear, according to the latest forecast for the region.

"An approaching storm system is expected to be the strongest so far this season, producing periods of heavy rain and strong winds, especially later today and tonight," the National Weather Service said on Monday morning. "Showers will continue into Tuesday. Dry and mild weather is forecast for the second half of the week and into the upcoming weekend."

Monday
Rain. High near 62. South wind 11 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday Night
Rain, mainly before 4am. Low around 51. South wind 12 to 17 mph decreasing to 6 to 11 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday
A chance of rain before 10am, then a chance of showers, mainly between 10am and 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. West wind 5 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

A 20 percent chance of showers before 10pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. West northwest wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.
