How New Facebook 'Reactions' Work: Feature Rolled Out Globally
The original 'like' button remains-- but has been joined by Love, Haha, Wow, Sad, and Angry.
MENLO PARK, CA- Facebook users around the globe can now more accurately react with the click of a button to posts on the social network, with the company’s latest roll out.
On Tuesday, Facebook ‘Reactions’ went live.
“We’ve been listening to people and know that there should be more ways to easily and quickly express how something you see in News Feed makes you feel,” Facebook Product Manager Sammi Krug wrote on the company’s newsroom site. “That’s why today we are launching Reactions, an extension of the Like button, to give you more ways to share your reaction to a post in a quick and easy way.”
Facebook has been testing out Reactions for about a year in select markets.
You should now see the feature on all your Facebook-enabled devices. To add your reactions on a desktop, hover over the ’like’ button. On your phone, hold down the ‘like’ button for a moment, and you can select from a pop-up menu of: Like, Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry. If you don’t see the features right away, you may need to update the app, or restart your device.
