Lanes Reopened on SB Hwy 101 After Car Fire Near Menlo Park

On Monday night, northbound lanes on Highway 101 near Mountain view were closed due to a six-car pile-up.

All lanes have reopened after a car fire blocked two lanes on the southbound U.S. Highway 101 in Menlo Park this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire was first reported at 5:24 a.m. north of Willow Road, the CHP said.

One lane reopened around 5:40 a.m. after the fire was extinguished, the CHP said. No injuries were reported.

And an accident Monday night that blocked northbound Highway 101, is also cleared.

All lanes of U.S. Highway 101 just south of Rengstorff Avenue in Mountain View reopened around 10 p.m. following an injury accident Monday night, according to the CHP.

The accident involving six vehicles on northbound Highway 101 was reported around 8:55 p.m., CHP officials said.

At least one person suffered major injuries, according to the CHP.

A Sig-alert was issued at 9:16 p.m. and the lanes reopened shortly before 10 p.m., CHP officials said.
