Local Nonprofit Receives $100K Grant to Help Teens

BUILD is based locally, but is helping students across the nation.

A Menlo Park-based nonprofit that uses entrepreneurship principles to inspire low-income students to be college and career ready, has received a $100,000 grant from the Chick-fil-A Foundation.

Business United in Investing, Lending & Development (BUILD) notes that high school dropouts are not qualified for 90 percent of jobs in the U.S

Claudia Borgelt, BUILD’s Manager of National Grants, says of the award: “The Chick-fil-A Foundation’s $100,000 investment in BUILD will support the ongoing operations of our four-year, entrepreneurship-based program to impact the lives and educations of over 1,400 high school students across the nation. We’re thrilled to receive this support and begin a partnership with the Chick-fil-A Foundation.”
