The Menlo School boys’ soccer team scored first then held on for a 2-2 draw against Crystal Springs Uplands in a physical West Bay Athletic League match Friday at home.
Junior Ryan Karle got the Knights started, taking a throw-in from fellow junior Beau Baldwin, and crossing it to the left corner in the 19th minute. The Gryphons struck 3.5 minutes later for a 1-1 tie, then took the lead on a goal 58 seconds into the second half.
“Every player pushes the whole match. They don’t pack it in if they’re down,” Coach Mark Arya said. “They created some good chances to score, but we’re not finishing. It’s definitely something that we can work on. ”
