
Posting its third consecutive shutout, the Menlo School girls’ soccer team defeated The King’s Academy 4-0 in a West Bay Athletic League game at home Monday.
Menlo, which outshot King's 16-7, improves to 5-1-0 in league and 7-4-2 overall.
The Knights jumped in front at the 30-minute mark of the first half when senior Sophie Sheeline headed in a cross from 8 yards out off a cross from sophomore Jaye Boissiere.

Menlo elevated its level of play in the second half, connecting for three more goals. Boissiere found the net first on a great strike from 22 yard out off a pass from Sheeline at 17 minutes. Then, Boissiere drove another 20 yard shot past the goalkeeper for Menlo's third goal at 27 minutes. Sophomore Chandler Wickers scored the final goal with a well placed 17-yard shot into the corner off a feed from sophomore Amanda McFarland.
Menlo's defense, led by senior Shannon Lacy, junior Hannah Rubin, sophomore Sienna Stritter, and freshman Alexandra Walker, was strong throughout the match, limiting The King's Academy to seven shots on goal.

Again, juniors Julia Dressel (2 saves) and Kelly McConnell (2 saves) combined on the shutout.
TKA drops to 1-3-0 in league and 6-4-1 overall. Menlo's next match is at 2:45 p.m. Thursday at home against Notre Dame-San Jose.
