Menlo Golf Defeats Harker
Junior Andrew Buchanan and Freshman Ethan Wong both shot a 1 over par 35 to pace the Knights crucial victory.

Menlo Golf took a key step in its quest for a second straight WBAL championship Monday with a 186 – 193 win over Harker at the Los Lagos Golf Course.
Junior Andrew Buchanan and Freshman Ethan Wong both shot a 1 over par 35 to pace the Knights crucial victory. Senior Co-Captain Will Petit gave his team a big emotional lift with a strong round of 37.
Junior Max Garnick turned in another good round with a 39 and Senior Co-Captain Jackson Dean contributed a 40 to the team total score. Senior Co-Captain James Huber just missed a scoring round by shooting a 41.

Freshman Wong successfully navigated the unusual Los Lagos layout that includes 5 par 3 holes in the front nine by shooting even par on the 5 par 3’s. Wong also finished strong on the front nine holes by going par, par, birdie on the final 3 holes. Will Petit turned in an unusually steady round with 6 pars and 3 bogies. Junior Max Garnick continued his effective play in his first year playing on the varsity team. Garnick closed out the match with a solid finish by paring the final 3 holes.
Menlo now has to win its last match to lock up the WBAL championship and earn another trip to CCS.
