Menlo Golf Season Ends at NorCal

A few errant shots truncated the season.

Menlo High School junior shot a 3 over par 75 at Butte Creek Country Club in Chico, CA at the NorCal High School Championship on Monday.  Buchanan missed moving on to state by 3 strokes.

Buchanan started play on the tenth hole, a par 5 and barely missed an eagle putt. On the 11th hole he just missed a birdie putt and then played steady golf for the rest of the first nine holes and was 2 under after the first nine holes. 
Two errant tee shots on holes 2 and 4 caused a penalty stroke and Buchanan moved to 1 over par. 

Two more bogies down the stretch led to the 75 final score. It was a great high school golf season for Buchanan who had 3 straight victories including co-medalist at the , medalist at the (68, -3), and medalist at the (64, -7). 

Buchanan will next play in the final round of US Open qualifying at the US Open Sectional qualifying on June 4 at Lake Merced and Harding Park.
