Menlo Park Man Arrested for Murder, 2nd Suspect Sought

Police in Menlo Park on Thursday arrested a man wanted in connection with recent homicide out of Merced County.
Police said officers arrested Victor Hernandez, 24, of Menlo Park, on a warrant for homicide out of Merced County during a traffic stop.
Police said detectives from the Menlo Park Police Departmentās Narcotic Enforcement Team located a silver BMW that was believed to have been involved in the homicide. Detectives set up surveillance on a residence in the 100 block of Newbridge Street, where the vehicle was located.

Police said a man matching the description of one of the outstanding homicide suspects left the residence at 4:30 p.m. in a dark colored Honda. Detectives conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle, identified the driver as Hernandez and took him into custody. He was transported back to Merced County and booked into the county jail.
Police said law enforcement officials are still searching for a second suspect, identified as Jose Hernandez, 26, of Menlo Park.

Police searched the residence following Victor Hernandezās arrest but did not locate Jose Hernandez. Police said they believe Jose Hernandez is still in the area.
