National Night Out 2018: Menlo Park Sign-Ups Underway
"There are also many great give-away items for block parties that register with the Menlo Park Police Department early."

MENLO PARK, CA – This year's National Night Out, the annual evening to promote police partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, is planned for Tuesday, Aug. 7. And sign-ups are underway for Menlo Park neighborhoods interested in hosting events.
Millions of neighbors in thousands of communities across the U.S. take part in National Night Out, started in 1984, on the first Tuesday in August with block parties, festivals, parades, cookouts and often with such activities as safety demonstrations and visits from emergency personnel.
"This year will be similar to the last five years, where several neighborhoods will be hosting outdoor gatherings with block parties throughout Menlo Park," the Menlo Park Police Department said. "It is a great way to get out in the community, get to know your neighbors, increase crime prevention while enjoying a Menlo Park summer evening surrounded by friends and family."

The City of Menlo Park also will waive fees for a street closure for residents hosting a National Night Out get-together.
"There are also many great give-away items for block parties that register with the Menlo Park Police Department early. Contact Community Service Officer Deanna Haley for more information on how to participate or host a block party at dchaley@menlopark.org," the department said. More details here.
