In the International Mathematics Modeling Competition, participants were given a problem that had to do with scheduling a film production, which mimicked real-life application of mathematics.

Team members Eric Foster, Andrew Lee, Kathryn Li, and Allison Zhang will head to Hong Kong in early July to receive their award from the international expert committee who judged the contest entries.

The team’s recognition in the International Mathematics Modeling Competition marks Palo Alto High School’s highest mathematical honor to date.
