Police Investigating Fatal Menlo Park Shooting
Man killed while sitting in his car Saturday night.

A person was shot and killed inĀ MenloĀ ParkĀ Saturday evening, aĀ police commander said.
Police were called around 6:30 p.m. to reports of gunshots firedĀ in the 300 block of Ivy Drive, according toĀ MenloĀ ParkĀ police Cmdr. DaveĀ Bertini.

Arriving officers found a victim lying in the street sufferingĀ from a gunshot wound.
Emergency responders arrived and pronounced the victimĀ dead at the scene.

Police said witnesses reported hearing gunshots and seeing twoĀ people fleeing the area. One was seen running north on Ivy Drive and theĀ other was running west on Modoc Avenue, police said.
The suspects were described only as men wearing dark, hoodedĀ sweatshirts.
Investigators believe the victim was sitting in a vehicle when theĀ shooting occurred, and did not live in the area.
The investigation isĀ ongoing.
The victim's name is being withheld pending notification ofĀ relatives.
