Silver Family Foundation Helps Local Agency Hit Fundraising Goal
The Silicon-Valley based jeweler & philanthropist's $44.8K donation allowed Peninsula Volunteers meet target to support its senior services.
MENLO PARK, CA — The Silver Family Foundation stepped up at a local event last month with a $44,800 donation to Peninsula Volunteers Inc., a non-profit devoted to senior services in San Mateo County — a gift that helped the agency reach its fundraising goal.
“As a lifelong resident of the Silicon Valley area, I’ve seen Menlo Park undergo tremendous change, but that change must not come at the expense of vulnerable long-time residents," said Stephen Silver, the gemologist and jeweler, who also guides the foundation in its efforts to support area charities.
"The Silver Family Foundation is proud to support PVI in their work to help vulnerable seniors remain and thrive in San Mateo County by providing basic needs to seniors, including meals and housing, as well as enriching activities and caregiver support,” he said.

With the monetary support to bridge its financial gap, Menlo Park-based Peninsula Volunteers can further its work providing Meals on Wheels for home-bound seniors, adult day services and social programs for the elderly and their family caregivers, along with senior housing in Menlo Park.
“This year’s event is one of the best we’ve had because of Stephen’s generosity and commitment to the community," said the non-profit's chief executive officer, Peter Olson, of the Nov. 4 fundraiser. "It’s a shining example of how we should all care for each other.”
