Stalled Vehicle Hit On Peninsula Caltrain Tracks, Agency Says

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

PALO ALTO, CA — A commuter train struck a vehicle on the tracks in Palo Alto Thursday afternoon, according to Caltrain officials. Northbound train No. 151 hit the vehicle at Churchill Avenue at 1:44 p.m.

The vehicle had apparently stalled on the tracks and was unoccupied at the time, according to Palo Alto police. No injuries were reported.

The train did not proceed any further, and passengers are being accommodated on train No. 155. Delays of 45 minutes to an hour have been reported.

The Churchill Avenue grade was closed by the strike, but it had reopened by 2:52 p.m., according to police.
