A number of major magazines have been considering whether there is a "Boy Crisis" — the crisis being that boys are falling behind girls in school. Dr. Jerry Shapiro gives a talk tonight about boys and boyhood and solutions about how you can help your boy do better in school. Health journalist Thea Singer explores the science of stress in a talk at 7 p.m. tonight at Kepler's Books based on her new book, Stress Less. According to the research, 42 million American women-those between the ages of forty and sixty-experience the most stress of anyone in the world. Wednesday Prime Rib Night

Blackberry REACT Meeting

REACT is an emergency-preparedness meeting for radio operators. You don't have to be a member already or know anything about radio communications to come to tonight's meeting. Getting Started in the Kitchen

Ready to become a first-class cook, but not quite sure where to begin? Then this Saturday class at Draeger's Cooking School is for you. Getting Started in the Kitchen is a hands-on, four-hour course this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. You'll learn the timing of preparing a complete meal, how to make vinaigrette, make sauteed chicken with pan sauce, herb-roasted potatoes, how to blanch and saute vegetables and best yet, at the end you will eat what you have learned to make that day.
