Upcoming 'Light The Night Walk' Fundraisers Set For Peninsula, San Jose
The walks are the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual evening fundraisers to bring help and hope to those affected by cancer.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Societyās (LLS) Northern California Chapter will be hosting its Peninsula Walk in Palo Alto on Nov. 1 at City Hall Plaza and the San Jose Walk on Oct. 18 at Discovery Meadows.
The evenings will start at 5 pm with food and festivities, and the walks will start at 7 pm.
The chapter will be kicking off its 2014 Light The NightĀ® Walk campaign with the San Francisco Walk on Sept. 23, at 5 p.m. at AT&T Park.

The Light The Night Walk is a powerful and unique fundraising campaign from LLS, which brings together families and communities to honor blood cancer survivors and loved ones lost to the disease.
The event also shines a light on the importance of finding cures and providing access to
treatments for blood cancer patients.

In addition to the Palo Alto, San Jose and San Francisco walks, the Light The Night campaign will host walks in the following communities:
Napa Valley Walk ā September 27, 2014
Veterans Memorial Park, Napa, Calif.
North Bay Walk ā October 11, 2014
Old Courthouse Square, Santa Rosa.
East Bay Walk ā October 25, 2014
Civic Park, Walnut Creek.
Sacramento Walk ā November 1, 2014
Raley Field, West Sacramento.
The Light The Night Walk is a family-friendly, non-competitive two-mile walk route and is
accessible to all fitness levels. There is no minimum for fundraising, but participants who raise
$100 or more will become a Champion for Cures and will receive a t-shirt, dinner and an
illuminated lantern on the night of the walk.
All walkers who receive an illuminated lantern will show how their lives have been affected by blood cancer ā white if theyāre a survivor, red if theyāre a supporter and gold if theyāre walking in memory of a loved one. All cancer survivors in attendance at all Light The Night Walks are honored guests and will receive these items regardless of their fundraising level.
