Who Felt It? Magnitude 2.9 Earthquake Shakes Peninsula

The temblor struck at 8:24 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The Peninsula area was shaken Wednesday night, when a 2.9 magnitude earthquake came rolling through the region, the USGS reports.

According to the agency, the quake struck at 8:24 p.m. and was centered:

  • 0km (0mi) N of Ladera, California
  • 3km (2mi) SW of Stanford, California
  • 5km (3mi) SSW of Menlo Park, California
  • 6km (4mi) SW of Palo Alto, California
  • 144km (89mi) SSW of Sacramento, California

So far, hundreds of people have reported feeling the earthquake via the U.S. Geological Survey’s ā€œdid you feel it?ā€ feature.
