MARIN COUNTY, CA — A 42-year-old man and resident of Marin County and San Francisco, was arrested on multiple felony charges following an investigation into vehicle burglary, credit card fraud, and drug possession, police said.
On Saturday a Corte Madera resident reported that his car had been entered overnight near Corte Madera Town Park. Several items were stolen, including identity documents and credit cards, which were subsequently used fraudulently at various stores throughout Marin County, police said.
The victim provided video surveillance footage of the crime, and the image of the suspect was circulated among Central Marin Police Authority officers. An officer said he recognized the suspect, who was wearing the same clothing, from a suspicious vehicle investigation two nights prior, leading to his identification as Brian Jordan.
“We would like to remind members of our communities that property crimes, particularly theft, are unfortunately common and to keep vehicles locked and valuables not left inside,” police said. “As in this case, good quality video cameras can be a valuable and easy-to-use investment.”
On Sunday morning, an officer said they spotted Jordan driving a car registered to him on Paradise Drive in Corte Madera. After a traffic stop, Jordan was taken into custody for grand theft.
Police said they also seized several grams of various narcotics, including methamphetamine and suspected fentanyl. Due to Jordan's prior convictions, he was also arrested for possession of controlled substances with prior convictions under a 2024 law, police said.
Officers said they also located burglary tools, narcotics paraphernalia and stolen mail from Tiburon. Evidence connecting Jordan to the original theft, including property with the victim’s name, was also found, police said. Officers said they determined Jordan used the victim’s credit cards to make fraudulent purchases at Marin County retail stores.
Jordan faces numerous charges, including grand theft, burglary, fraudulent use of a credit card, identity theft, possession of controlled substances with prior convictions, possession of burglary tools, and possession of stolen property, police said
