High Tides May Bring Flooding To Marin County Along Coast: NWS

The National Weather Service has issued an advisory urging residents to stay out of floodwaters and avoid low-lying parking areas.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory for Marin County, warning high tides could cause flooding in coastal areas beginning Saturday.

The NWS stated that the elevated tides are expected produce minor flooding in streets, parking lots, trails and other low-lying coastal areas 10 p.m. Saturday through 3 a.m. Tuesday.

The NWS stated they expect up to 1 foot of inundation in low-lying areas during high tide.

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid parking in flood-prone areas and to stay out of floodwaters, whether on foot or in a vehicle.
