• Mill Valley police chief to depart for Sonoma County post (marinij.com) — Mill Valley's police chief, Ignacio "Rick" Navarro, is leaving his post to lead Rohnert Park's integrated police-fire Department of Public Safety starting Sept. 22. Navarro, who has served as Mill Valley chief since 2021 and long worked in Marin law enforcement, was chosen after a national search and will oversee a sizable staff and budget in his hometown.
