In Your Town for Sept. 17, 2026 (marinij.com) β Mill Valley residents can expect major upgrades on Lomita Drive after Marin County supervisors approved a $1.29 million contract for pavement rehab, sidewalks, curb ramps, drainage, and more between Greenfield Court and the Horse Hill Preserve lot. The county also highlighted a large Lucas Valley home expansion proposal and announced a countywide AlertMarin emergency-notification test set for Sept. 26 at 10 a.m.

Bay Area Arts + Culture Calendar 2026: Can't Miss Performances, Exhibitions, Festivals, and Events (7x7.com) β Film lovers in and around Mill Valley can mark October 1β11 for the 49th Mill Valley Film Festival, bringing international films, documentaries, and filmmaker appearances to Marin and Berkeley. The broader fall arts calendar is packed too, from major museum shows and Hardly Strictly Bluegrass to Litquake, ballet premieres, hip-hop dance, Dolly Parton Day, and DΓa de los Muertos celebrations across the Bay Area.

Sqwerv Announces Fall Tour and Two-Night Halloween Run at Globe Hall (gratefulweb.com) β Mill Valley music fans can catch Denver jam band Sqwerv at Sweetwater Music Hall on October 17 as part of their 20-date fall tour. The group is promoting new singles and a forthcoming record while crisscrossing the West Coast, Midwest, and East Coast, capped by a two-night Halloween run in Denver and a Jam Cruise appearance in early 2027.

COYOTE Calendar: September 17-September 23 (coyotemedia.org) β Mill Valley readers have a free writing craft talk right in town, as the Mill Valley Public Library hosts a point-of-view and narration workshop with instructor Tanya Ε½ilinskas on September 17 from 5:30β7 p.m. The wider COYOTE Calendar also rounds up dozens of other Bay Area happenings this week, from festivals and lectures to concerts and hands-on classes, many within an easy drive of Mill Valley.
