SAN ANSELMO, CA — Central Marin police responded to reports of large gatherings involving hundreds of teens across San Anselmo, Larkspur and Corte Madera during Halloween weekend, including parties where alcohol was present and one gathering that resulted in a social host citation.
Officers responded to several large gatherings Friday, including parties in Larkspur and Corte Madera and an open-space gathering in San Anselmo.
Alcohol was present at some locations, police said. One intoxicated teen was released to her parents, while another required medical evaluation.
Officers worked with parents and homeowners to disperse the gatherings and arrange transportation home. One citation under the Social Host Ordinance was issued in Larkspur, police said.
Police responded to additional party and noise complaints Saturday in Corte Madera and San Anselmo.
In several cases, homeowners and parents took steps to prevent underage drinking and address concerns before gatherings grew, police said.
Officers also helped a large number of teens who entered San Anselmo after a gathering in a neighboring jurisdiction was dispersed.
Police spent significant time arranging safe rides home and addressing welfare concerns.
Central Marin Police Authority thanked parents and homeowners who worked with officers over the weekend and said social host citations will be issued when violations occur.
