MILL VALLEY, CA — Mill Valley voters have a relatively quiet City Council election this year, with incumbents Stephen Burke and Max Perrey running unopposed for two seats. But voters are also weighing local and countywide ballot measures.
The latest returns show Yes projected to pass on Measure T, with nearly 80 percent of the vote.
As of 11 a.m. on Friday, here's where the local contests and other races stand as ballots continue to be counted. Results are preliminary and will be updated as Marin County election officials release additional returns.
Measure T is one of the key local decisions facing Mill Valley voters.
The Yes side is ahead by over 2,000 votes.
Stephen Burke and Max Perrey are the only candidates running for the two open City Council seats. With no challengers on the ballot, the focus is on the vote totals each incumbent receives.
Both have reached the minimum threshold and won the two seats.
Voters are also weighing in on the race for California's 2nd Senate District, where Democrat Damon Connolly is facing Republican Tief Gibbs.
Connolly has been declared the winner with 81 percent of the vote, ahead of Gibbs by over 40,000 votes, according to the Associated Press.
Democrats Eric Lucan and Jackie Elward are competing for the 12th Assembly District seat, which represents Marin County and portions of Sonoma County.
Elward has declared victory after she said she received a call from Lucan who has conceded, according to a report by KQED.
Democratic incumbent Rep. Jared Huffman is seeking another term against Republican challenger Robin Littau in California's 2nd Congressional District.
Huffman has been declared the winner in the race, holding a 40,000-vote advantage over Littau.
Measure P, the Marin County Childcare Initiative, is also on the ballot. The measure would provide funding for childcare, preschool and early childhood education programs.
The Yes vote is ahead by 4,210 votes, with 53 percent of the vote.
The numbers will continue to change as election officials process and count additional ballots. Check back for updates.

The governor's race was somewhat anticlimactic following a chaotic primary with a crowded field of candidates roiled when the frontrunner was forced to step down amid sexual assault allegations. Since then, Becerra maintained a steady lead over Hilton in the polls.
In the final days of the election, a new SurveyUSA poll showed Becerra with a 22-point lead.

All 52 of California's Congressional seats were on the ballot.
Congressional races across California were under intense scrutiny following voter approval of Proposition 50, a partisan redistricting measure expected to reshape the state's political map. Thanks to the redistricting, only a handful of districts were truly competitive. Democrats hoped to flip as many as five Republican House seats in a bid to overturn the GOP's slim House majority.
Democrats think they can flip as many as five seats, with four seeming very much in reach, according to the polls. Both parties are spending like control of the House is on the line.

There were 14 statewide propositions on the ballot this week. Arguably, the most hot-button ballot initiatives involve taxation. Proposition 40 is the highly discussed billionaire tax, while Propositions 41 and 42 aim to counter the measure. Proposition 3 also addresses taxes on the state's highest earners.
