Milpitas Police credit a passerby for calling for help when he saw the suspects.

MILPITAS, CA — Two teens were arrested at the Great Mall last week for allegedly trying to break into a vehicle. Milpitas Police released a photo of 18-year-old Felix Hernandez of San Jose. His alleged accomplice was not identified because he is only 16. He is also a San Jose resident.
Police received a call at 8:10 a.m. on March 29 from a passerby near the Great Mall saying the teens were trying to break into a car in the parking lot. "As officers headed to the scene, the caller provided detailed descriptions of the teenagers and provided the direction of travel when the teenagers walked away from the car," police said in a printed release.
Officers spotted the teens in another part of the parking lot, but they ran away. The 16-year-old was later found near a gas station and Hernandez was found hiding in a service hallway inside the mall.
