Alzheimer's Care: New Facility To Be Built In San Jose

For families that need new options, help is coming.

SAN JOSE, CA - A new care facility with 200 units, including 30 dedicated to memory care, is being constructed in San Jose. Holden of San Jose Senior Assisted & Memory Care is located at 4610 Almaden Expressway. An opening date is more than two years away.

It's a snazzy place. Luxury amenities include a bistro, golf simulator, fitness center, hair salon, multi-purpose room, digital cafe, art studio, card room, training center, movie room, billiards room, and bar/sky lounge. The community will also have access to a scenic, public walking path by the river.

There will also be a full commercial kitchen, dining area, nurse center and other amenities expected in such a facility.

It is a fully-licensed Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (RCFE), regulated by the State of California. There will be 24-hour staff to accommodate those with dementia or in need of medical care, as well as those with active lifestyles looking for more engaging, resort-style services.

Alliance Residential Company, the nation’s second largest multifamily developer, is behind the facility. Construction of the project is entrusted to San Jose-based Swenson. "Holden of San Jose Senior Living will provide the San Jose Area with 200 units of highly-needed senior housing to a community with a severe shortage of quality options in senior housing," said Project Executive for Swenson, Jim Shydlowski.
