Woman dies after hit-and-run crash in parking lot in Milpitas (nbcbayarea.com subscription) β A woman was killed Friday in a hit-and-run in the Mill Creek Apartments parking lot on Dixon Landing Road, and Milpitas police have arrested a 32-year-old local resident in connection with the crash. Officers found the victim with fatal injuries at the scene and later located a damaged blue SUV nearby that matched witness descriptions. The investigation is still ongoing.

Indoor pickleball facility opens in Milpitas (mercurynews.com) β Milpitas residents now have a new indoor pickleball hub at The Picklr in McCarthy Ranch Plaza, offering 16 courts, leagues, and training at 128 Ranch Drive. The city also strengthened its leadership team by hiring Scott Transou as assistant city manager and Hamed Zadran as building official, moves that will shape services and development across Milpitas.

Relatives and local friends are urgently seeking any information from fellow travelers. The longtime American citizen and tech professional was on a spiritual pilgrimage when the avalanche-triggered flooding struck.
