Coroner IDs Pedestrian Killed on I-880 Off-Ramp
The 54-year-old man was killed Monday night walking in northbound lanes of traffic, CHP said.

The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office has identified the 54-year-old pedestrian killed Monday night in a fatal crash on Interstate Highway 880 in Milpitas.
The incident was reported around 10:10 p.m. at the juncture from northbound Interstate Highway 880 to state Highway 237, according to California Highway Patrol Officer Peter Van Eckhardt.

Joe Guerrero was walking in northbound lanes of traffic when struck by a 2006 Infiniti M35. Paramedics tried to revive him, but Guerrero was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.
He’s listed as a Gilroy resident by the CHP, but Guerrero was a transient according to the medical examiner’s office.

The Infiniti was driven by a 45-year-old Palo Alto man. A 15-year-old girl related to the driver was riding as a passenger at the time.
They were driving home from a family sporting event. Neither of the vehicle’s occupants were injured.
