MILPITAS, CA — The Milpitas Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a hit-and-run driver who refused to give insurance information to the victim he hit and fled the area earlier this month.
At about 1 p.m. on April 7, a man in a white Toyota pickup truck with gray primer on the tailgate backed into a white 2007 Acura TL sedan in a shopping center parking lot on West Calaveras Boulevard.
The suspect, described as a Hispanic man believed to be anywhere from 35 to 40 years old with a medium build and a thin mustache and goatee, spoke to the victim in the Acura and offered to repair the damage himself as well as a small amount of cash, officers said.
