Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Silicon Valley chapter hosted an event on the topic of “Khilafat - Leadership in Islam, Political and Spiritual” at Barbara Lee Senior Center on June 9, 2013. The event was attended by 120 guests including religious scholars, religious leaders, thought leaders, city officials and people of different faith and members of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Mayor of Milpitas Jose Esteves welcomed the guests and introduced the keynote speaker. The keynote speaker was Imam Mubasher, who explained the current political situation around the world and emphasized the need of Muslim leaders to come forward and work towards establishing peace and bring other world leaders attention to the importance of working towards. He highlighted the examples of Khalifa of Islam and worldwide Head of Ahmadiyya Muslim community, His Holliness Mizra Masroor Ahmed efforts of reaching out of prominent world leaders and emphasizes on pursue world peace with absolute justice. Ahmadiya Muslim community recognized the efforts and awarded the following officials for their contributions towards creating a peaceful environment.
