Loaded Gun Seized During Milpitas Arrest

MILPITAS, CA — An alert Milpitas Police officer spotted a car without a front license plate and expired tags as it drove past City Hall last Friday.

The officer pulled over the Corvette at around 8 p.m. The officer believed the driver appeared was under the influence of drugs.

The officer arrested the driver, Armando Sarmiento, and searched his car. The officer reports that he found a loaded handgun under the driver seat and drug paraphernalia.

Sarmiento was booked into the Santa Clara County main jail for unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, being under the influence of drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
