Man Arrested For Breaking Into Closed Supermarket: Police

MILPITAS, CA — Officers arrested a man on suspicion of burglary after he tried to break into two different Milpitas stores in May, police said.

George Pacheco, 43, of San Jose, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County main jail on suspicion of burglary and vandalism May 19, according to police.

The case began when officers responded to a silent alarm at Victoria Liquors & Food at 22 South Park Victoria Drive around 12:38 a.m., police said.

The front glass doors were cracked but still intact, according to police, and it appeared that no one had actually entered the closed business.

As officers checked around the shopping center, they found a cracked front glass door at Ocean Supermarket at 2 South Park Victoria Drive, police said. They surrounded the closed supermarket, allegedly found Pacheco
in an enclosure at the back and arrested him.

Surveillance camera footage confirmed that Pacheco broke the glass doors at Victoria Liquors before he broke the door at Ocean Supermarket, according to police.
