Man Arrested For Masturbating In Car In Milpitas

Police arrested the man after receiving a tip from the community.

MILPITAS, CA — A Scotts Valley man is in custody after being linked to an indecent exposure case in Milpitas last week, police said today.

At 1:02 p.m. on March 5, Milpitas police responded to call of a suspicious man seen masturbating inside a red vehicle in the 1000 block of North Abbott Avenue, according to police.

When officers arrived in the area, they located Curtis Dale Vanmill, 59, sitting inside a parked red vehicle.

Vanmill matched the description given to police and officers located adult pornographic material, sexual paraphernalia and a briefcase containing suspected child pornography when they searched his car, police
said.

Vanmill was arrested without incident and was booked into Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of indecent exposure and possession of child pornography, according to police.

Milpitas police thanked the community for their role in helping assist in the detainment of Vanmill, calling it "a great example where reporting suspicious behavior to the police department aids in keeping our community safe."
