Man Arrested In Milpitas For Alleged Firearm, Marijuana

MILPITAS, CA -- Officers arrested a man in Milpitas on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana for sale and other crimes Thursday, police said.

Jaylon Ray, 23, of Los Angeles County, was arrested and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail Thursday, according to police.

The case began around 10:40 a.m. when a police sergeant stopped a black 2016 Nissan Versa sedan on suspicion of speeding on East Calaveras Boulevard near South Milpitas Boulevard, police said.

Ray had a suspended driver's license, a probation violation warrant from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department and traffic warrant from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, according to police.

The sergeant searched Ray's car and allegedly found ammunition, more than 150 grams of marijuana and a loaded .45 caliber pistol, police said.
