Merryhill Elementary School in San Jose Students Hold Walk-a-Thon

Students walked laps around their school and raised more than $4,000 for organizations that help local children, families and more

Students at Merryhill Elementary School in San Jose recently held a walk-a-thon and raised more than $4,000 to support a variety of charities, including organizations that benefit local children and families in need. Students collaborated with the school’s PTA to organize the event, and each classroom selected an organization to walk in support of, which included Second Harvest Food Bank, Family Supportive Housing, Boys and Girls Club of Silicon Valley, and organizations that benefit the environment and animals. Students earned donations for each lap completed and created large checks to present their donations to the organizations.
