If you’re anxious to cross those home improvement projects off your to-do list before the winter season kicks into high gear, but you’re short on tools, the City of Milpitas has a solution for you – the

Milpitas residents may borrow tools from the Lend-A-Tool Shed free of charge for up to seven days. The long list of hand tools available includes pruners, ladders of various sizes, shears, saws, wheel barrows and more.

The Tool Shed is operated by the Neighborhood Services Division of the City of Milpitas. To check out a tool, call the department at 408-586-3074 and make an appointment. All you need to bring is a picture I.D. and a utility bill showing your Milpitas address.

The Lend-A-Tool Shed is located at 1263 Yosemite Dr., at the corner of Park Victoria and Yosemite, in the back of the fire station. It’s open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
