Milpitas Woman, 82, Killed Crossing San Jose Street

Milpitas resident Hsu Jung Huey, 82, died Wednesday after being hit by a truck in San Jose, the San Jose Mercury News reported.

It was the first traffic fatality of the year in the city, according to police.

Around 6:09 p.m., officers responded to the area of White Road and Patt Avenue, where they found Huey suffering from major injuries. She died a short time after being transported to a local hospital.

A preliminary investigation shows that a 70-year old drivers, who has yet to be identified, hit Huey as she was crossing the street.
