Neigh or Yay? Horseback Riding Senior Asks Girl to Prom

Milpitas High School senior Miguel Gonzalez wanted to have an interesting story to tell his grandkids, so instead of simply asking Catalina Hernandez if she wanted to go to prom, he borrowed a horse and rode onto campus carrying a sign.

Catalina loved it. The principal did not.

Miguel got his date, but he also got a two day suspension and 20 hours of community service. The principal cited safety concerns.

Miguel has never been in trouble before and took the setback in strike, “This is something that I probably won’t regret…Honestly, that’s the real reason, just for the story that I actually went on campus with a horse.”

The school district liked Miguel’s story. They’ve purged the suspension from his permanent record.
