New Interactive 'Light Wall' Dazzles At Milpitas Library
Even the very young can create changing, colorful patterns with the Everbright's easy-to-use dials.

MILPITAS, CA – An Everbright wall display, recently installed at the Milpitas library, is proving educational and entertaining, according to the Santa Clara County Library District.
The high-tech light wall, approximately 4 feet by 8 feet, has 476 dials and allows users to create images by adjusting each dial to whatever color they choose -- making the design possibilities nearly endless, staff said.
“This new community interactive wall allows our patrons to create designs in every color of the rainbow - plus the hues in-between,” said Nancy Howe, county librarian. “As a library system based in Silicon Valley, we strive to bring the latest technology to our libraries. Everbright promotes fun, learning and imagination, allowing our patrons to discover their creative side.”

Everbright also makes an engaging, educational tool for young children as they touch and see color changes and pattern formations, and it is easy to use.
"The connection between the hand, eyes and the brain is critical to early literacy," library officials said.

Designed by Dr. Alan Rorie of Oakland-based Hero Designs and a former neuroscience researcher at Stanford University, Everbright creates its bright light displays with multiple RGB LED pixels that can rotate endlessly in either direction, changing color and hue as the dials turn.
SCCLD’s Everbright will be on display for several weeks at the Milpitas library branch before moving on to other libraries in the system.
